To start off my blog...

The life of a student performer is definitely not an easy life. I'm 15 years old going on 16, and I already have a passion in life. Obviously, from the name of my blog title, you can see that I love performing. What I do specifically is musical theatre. Live theatre feels so real to me. I take singing lessons once or twice a week. I volunteer my hours over at FCMS (Falcon Cove Middle) and help out their drama club. I'm their singing/assistant director, which I love. Helping out the kids at FCMS brings a lot of joy to my life. Man, that sounds really corny, but hey it's true. Also I'm in the CBHS (Cypress Bay High) production of "Kiss me Kate"; I play, "Hattie." This is my first show with CBHS and I couldn't be more thrilled! Getting a part as a sophomore is a big deal people have told me, which is an amazing feeling. I feel like I'm in a dream!
Pretty much a student performers daily life style is an exciting one, but it's not always just fun and games. It takes a lot of work, time, and energy. I am rarely ever home. I feel as though I live at school, no joke. I at school from 7 in the morning to 7 at night. Not to mention, I take dance class a few days a week. I also had a singing and dancing recital recently, which means I don't even get home until 8-9 at night. Not to mention I'm exhausted, oh and that you have piles and piles of homework to do. As you can imagine, I don't sleep much. But these are the sacrifices a student performer has to make. In the long run, you do it for the love and passion.

  1. Sounds tough....I sometimes feel the same with dance. They are actually pretty similar lifestyles. We both rehearse, take classes, and put on big productions, on top of everything else ! But what you said at the end is so true, you do it for the love and passion. Congratulations on your role in "Kiss me Kate." Hopefully I will be able to come and watch it. I can't wait to read more from your blog!
